“FUTURE STARS” 

- WVOX has a unique platform that sets it apart from any other radio station in the New York area.

As the last independently owned community radio station in greater New York, we are creating a showcase for aspiring young musicians in the Westchester County/tri-state area.

A little background:  each week we receive phone calls, tapes, CD’s from high school and college age musicians. They know that the only way to get their work exposed to a new audience is through their community radio station. 

Our music staff decided we need to showcase these future hometown stars.  We are very excited about a new program debuting on WVOX on February 8th.   This is the good news that you don’t see on TV and hear on radio anymore.

We are going to invite these high school and college musicians to our studios to present  their works.  We will continue to solicit these CD’s and demo tapes. Our music staff will choose the bands that we feel best fit in with what our young audience wants to hear. In addition to playing a segment of their tape, the members of the band will be interviewed live on the air. 

This is a show that will have the parents’ ears as well as the kids’ ears glued to the radio and the Internet WVOX.Com. We know that the viral marketing of this brand new show will be on Facebook , Twitter and Youtube. And who knows, you might be at the beginnings of a brand new music sensation.
